FILIPINO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (FYP DC)

The purpose of FYP-DC is to create a network of young professionals in the Washington, DC area, to provide education about Filipino-American heritage through social activities, and to contribute to the local Filipino-American community through volunteerism and charitable events.”

“Since 1997, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) promotes the welfare and well-being of the four million Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout the United States. As a non-partisan and non-profit organization, NaFFAA is the largest national affiliation of Filipino American institutions, umbrella organizations, and individuals. Its fifteen-member regions cover the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.”

PHILIPPINE AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR CHARITIES

“PAFC was established in 1996 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It was initially known as the Philippine Independence Day Committee and was composed of members of Filipino-American associations in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia who organized the Philippine Independence Day programs. Since its inception, PAFC has grown and expanded many programs, including granting awards to deserving organizations, contributing to disaster relief, staging the Philippine Festival and participating in the Asian Festival, honoring outstanding Filipino-Americans, and coordinating programs for youth and senior citizens. PAFC is a volunteer-run organization.”
